Reporting to the Field Office Director, the Refugee Services Case Manager will provide case management and supportive services to newly arriving refugees.

DUTIES

  • Arrange housing, healthcare, social services, service providers, and interpretation for refugees.
  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate case management for refugees and other eligible populations aged 60 and older.
  • Manage all Services for older Refugees (SOR) such as maintaining case files, making referrals, communicating with participants, and managing volunteers.
  • Maintain case files, submit written reports as required, provide cross-cultural information, orient refugee families to their new community, and ensure a smooth process of resettlement.
  • Work to connect clients with supportive community networks and support systems to ensure their long-term integration in the community.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and work with community partners to learn about resources for refugees and make referrals when needed.
  • Ensure that refugees are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and provide education and advocacy when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a Social Work or behavioral/human services field or two years of experience providing case management and/or social services preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, and database programs.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot, and follow projects through with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability and relationship building.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and valid insurance, and be able to travel locally as required.
  • Fluency in one of the key languages used by client populations is preferred (includes but is not limited to Arabic, Dari, Farsi, French, Swahili). Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Cross-cultural or international experience preferred
